Office makeover is like watching paint dry…

Hi there,

My office makeover is going about as fast as watching paint dry. But, at least the painting is all done now, although I’m still doing my best to get rid of the paint fumes by opening the window, using a fan to exchange air, and lighting candles to help burn off the yucky smell.

Airing out my office after painting baseboard, window trim, and door.

As you can see, there are still a few boxes under my desk to sort out. But, I did manage to empty several file drawers and set aside a bunch of stationery, books, and cool stuff to give away or take to the consignment store. I am finding this whole process quite stressful, and the only thing that keeps me going is my vision of a bright and airy office space with Room Enough to Think Big as well as Get Things Done.

(!!!)

Alas, the stress of it all, together with the paint fumes, finally nailed me. I’ve now come down with a nasty sore throat and stuffy nose. But, I’m not giving up, just going into a lower gear for a while.

Ahhhh! 24 Hours Later…

My much improved desk space, just 24 hours later!

Sigh of relief! I can see my desk again!

This is my second installment on the clean up of my out-of-control messy home office. I must have unleashed my best paper-fighting superpowers to get all this done in just one day, no?

I even got a lot done on my messy bookcase, a massive boxy thing that sits directly behind my desk. I’ll save that story for another post.

My office is not only fit for human consumption now, Pumpkin (our pussy cat) likes the space, too. She came in and slept at my feet. How great is that?
